Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1/2 c
  • butter or margarine - 1 Tbsp
  • presifted flour - 2 Tbsp
  • fresh berries, washed and prepared
  • cold water or fruit juice - 3/4 c

How to make fresh berry cobbler:

Preheat oven to 375°. Prepare and wash fresh berries. Add sugar and set aside. Blend together in saucepan flour and water (or juice). Cook over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil, stirring constantly. Add berry mixture and cook over low heat until just tender. Pour hot mixture into a 1 1/2 quart casserole. Dot with butter or margarine and add spices if desired. Prepare Sweet Drop Biscuit Dough Recipe (found in Bread section). Drop batter from a spoon onto berry mixture. Do not stir. Bake in a preheated 375° oven for 35 to 40 minutes. Serve hot, with cream if desired. Makes 5 to 6 servings.

This is great when fresh blueberries are in season.
