Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- chopped pecans - 1 c
- milk - 1/4 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour
- water - 1/2 c
- nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
- soda - 1 tsp
- cocoa - 1 Tbsp
- allspice - 1/4 tsp
- stick oleo - 1 item
- shortening or oleo - 1 c
- apples, peeled and cut up fine - 3 item
- Cream the sugar and shortening
How to make fresh apple cake:
Dissolve soda in water. Cream the sugar and shortening. Add eggs to creamed mixture. Add spices, cocoa and salt to flour. Gradually add flour and soda water mixture to creamed mixture; beat well. Add apples and pecans. Stir in vanilla; mix well. Bake in a greased and floured tube pan at 350° for 60 to 70 minutes. Remove from oven. Cool 5 to 10 minutes and remove from pan.Icing:1 c. brown sugar1/4 c. milk1 stick oleo Mix all ingredients together in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Boil exactly 3 minutes.
