Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- eggs - 3 item
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 1/2 c
- cooking oil - 1 c
- pecans - 1 c
- stick oleo - 1/2 item
- thinly sliced apples - 2 c
- white corn syrup - 1 Tbsp
How to make fresh apple cake:
Icing:1 c. sugar1/2 stick oleo1/2 tsp. soda1/2 tsp. vanilla1/2 c. buttermilk1 Tbsp. white corn syrup Mix together sugar, oil and eggs. Sift together flour, salt, soda and cinnamon. Add to other mixture; beat well. Do not use electric mixer. Add apples and pecans and mix. Pour in oblong pan. Bake at 375° for 45 minutes.Icing: Mix together and start cooking about 15 minutes before cake gets done. Cook over medium heat until soft ball stage. Stick holes in cake and pour over cake.
