- peeled, sliced apples - 4 c
- sugar - 2 c
- flour - 2 c
- baking soda
- cinnamon - 2 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- eggs - 2 item
- vegetable oil - 3/4 c
- chopped pecans or walnuts optional - 1 c
- butter - 1/2 c
- evaporated milk - 1/2 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
How to make fresh apple cake:
Apple Dessert Sauce:1 c. sugar1/2 c. butter1/2 c. evaporated milk1 tsp. vanilla Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, stir together apples and sugar. Add dry ingredients; stir well. In a separate bowl, beat eggs, oil and vanilla. Stir egg mixture into apple mixture, blending until thoroughly moistened. Stir in nuts. Pour into greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan. Bake for 50 minutes or until cake springs back.Sauce: Place all ingredients in a saucepan; stir. Bring to a boil and cook for 3 minutes. Serve warm.
