sugar - 2 c
eggs - 4 item
vanilla - 1 tsp
milk - 3 tsp
salt - 1 tsp
chopped nuts - 1/2 c
soda - 1 tsp
stick butter - 1 item
cooking oil
plain flour - 3 c
pecans - 1 c
apples, diced - 3 c
coconut if desired - 1 c
Add eggs one at a time and beat after each

How to make fresh apple cake:

Mix sugar and oil. Add eggs one at a time and beat after each. Sift soda, salt and flour. Add to egg mixture and beat well. Add apples, nuts, coconut and vanilla. Bake in greased and floured tube pan for 1 hour and 20 minutes at 325°. Do not open oven while cake is baking.Topping:1 1/2 c. brown sugar1 stick butter1/2 c. chopped nuts3 tsp. milk Place all ingredients in saucepan, cook until soft ball stage. Pour on cake while warm. (I half this topping, I think it only needs a glaze.)
