Ingredients/Components

  • brown sugar* - 1 c
  • butter* - 1/4 c
  • light corn syrup* - 2 Tbsp
  • slices white or wheat bread - 12 item
  • well-beaten eggs - 6 item
  • milk
  • vanilla - 1 Tbsp
  • salt
  • dash of nutmeg - 1 item
  • cream cheese, softened - 8 oz

How to make french toast casserole:

*Or use real maple syrup.

Combine first three ingredients in a medium saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens. Pour into 9 x 13 baking dish. Lay 6 slices of bread over mixture. Spread cream cheese over the bread. Lay other 6 slices of bread on top. Combine eggs, milk, vanilla, salt and nutmeg and pour into the baking dish. Cover and chill overnight. (I've done this 2 nights prior to serving.) Bake at 350° for 40 to 45 minutes until lightly browned.

pkg, 5 oz, shredded cabbage, chunk bologna, small package vanilla pudding and pie filling not instant, boneless chicken tenderloins, chinese egg noodles, box angel hair spaghetti, cooked, flounders-cleaned and slit on top forming a pocket for stuffing, to 2 bags dried corn husks, soak overnight in water to soften, drain on paper towels until dry and ready to use
