Ingredients/Components

  • butter or margarine - 1/2 c
  • beef bouillon cubes - 6 item
  • large onions - 6 item
  • croutons or dried bread or crackers - 1 item
  • grated Parmesan and Gruyere cheese - 1 c

How to make french onion soup:

Slice onions. Brown in butter. Add bouillon cubes. Fill 4-quart pan 3/4 full of water. Bring all of these to a boil, then simmer at least 1/2 an hour.

Place croutons, bread or crackers on top of soup and cover with grated cheese. Serve immediately.

Smells so good when cooking!
