French onion soup
Ingredients/Components
- butter or margarine - 1/2 c
- beef bouillon cubes - 6 item
- large onions - 6 item
- croutons or dried bread or crackers - 1 item
- grated Parmesan and Gruyere cheese - 1 c
How to make french onion soup:
Slice onions. Brown in butter. Add bouillon cubes. Fill 4-quart pan 3/4 full of water. Bring all of these to a boil, then simmer at least 1/2 an hour.Place croutons, bread or crackers on top of soup and cover with grated cheese. Serve immediately.
