Ingredients/Components
- water - 4 c
- stick butter - 1/2 item
- bay leaf - 1 item
- Swiss cheese - 1 item
- bouillon cubes - 4 item
- onions - 2 c
- Italian bread - 1 item
How to make french onion soup:
Fry onions in butter until golden. Combine water, onions, bouillon cubes and bay leaf. Simmer 1 hour. Pour into bowl with slice of Italian bread. Top with Swiss cheese. Broil 2 to 3 minutes.Recipe categories: Soups & stews, Meat, French.
