Ingredients/Components

  • semi-sweet chocolate - 4 sq
  • light corn syrup - 1/4 c
  • vanilla extract - 1/2 tsp
  • milk - 4 c
  • whipping cream - 1 c

How to make french hot chocolate:

In double boiler over hot, not boiling water, heat chocolate and corn syrup until melted and smooth. Stir occasionally with rubber spatula. Cover and refrigerate 30 minutes or until cool. Stir in vanilla.

Then in a small bowl, beat cream and chocolate until mixture forms soft peaks. Heat milk until very hot and small bubbles form around edge. Do not boil.

To serve, spoon chocolate cream mixture into 8 coffee cups. Pour hot milk over it and serve. Yields 8 servings.
