French fried onion rings

- milk - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour - 1 c
- oil - 1 Tbsp
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- onions - 1 item
- whole egg, beaten - 1 item
How to make french fried onion rings:
Beat egg, oil and milk together. Sift dry ingredients together; stir liquid into flour mixture. Beat until smooth. Peel and slice onions across, about 1/4-inch thick. Separate into rings. While mixing batter, soak onion rings in milk, then dip rings in batter, taking care to cover completely. Fry in deep fat at about 375°.
