French breakfast puffs
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- milk - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour
- nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
- baking powder
- egg - 1 item
- shortening - 1/3 c
- butter, melted - 6 Tbsp
How to make french breakfast puffs:
Mix 1 teaspoon cinnamon and 1/2 cup sugar and set aside. Cream shortening, 1/2 cup sugar and egg. Sift flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg. Add to creamed mixture. Alternate with milk, beating well after each addition. Fill greased muffin tins 2/3 full. Bake at 350° for 20 to 25 minutes. Remove from pan immediately. Dip in melted butter and then cinnamon sugar mixture until top is coated. Makes 12.Recipe categories: Breads, Lunch/snacks, Breakfast.
