Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1 tsp
  • salt
  • water - 1 c
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • cloves garlic, minced - 3 item
  • olive oil - 1/4 c
  • chopped parsley - 1/4 c
  • dried oregano - 1 Tbsp
  • large onion, chopped - 1 item
  • dried basil - 1 Tbsp
  • each cans tomato paste - 3 oz
  • 7 to 9 fresh tomatoes, peeled and pureed - 3 lb

How to make freezer spaghetti sauce:

In large saucepan, heat olive oil until hot. Add garlic and onion and cook until tender. Stir in remaining ingredients and simmer gently, uncovered, stirring occasionally, 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until thickness desired. Cool and package in meal size portions. Makes about 7 cups.
