Four bean chili
Ingredients/Components
- 5 oz
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- shredded Cheddar cheese - 1/2 c
- medium onion, chopped - 1 item
- garlic cloves, crushed - 2 item
- can pinto beans, rinsed and drained - 1 1/2
- can black-eyed peas, rinsed and drained - 1 oz
- bacon, cut into 1-inch pieces - 1/2 lb
- can whole tomatoes, undrained and cut up - 1 1/2
- can spicy chili beans, undrained - 1 oz
How to make four bean chili:
Cook bacon in a Dutch oven or large saucepan over medium-high heat for 6 to 8 minutes or until crisp. Remove bacon; drain, reserving 1 tablespoon drippings in pan. Crumble bacon. Cook and stir onion and garlic in 1 tablespoon drippings until onion is tender-crisp. Reduce heat to medium; stir in bacon and remaining ingredients. Cover and cook 15 to 20 minutes or until thoroughly heated and flavors are blended. To serve, top with shredded cheese.Recipe categories: Soups & stews, Main dish, Chili.
