  • milk - 2 c
  • salt - 2 tsp
  • flour - 3 Tbsp
  • chopped onion - 1/2 c
  • fish - 1 lb
  • thyme - 1/4 tsp
  • slices bacon - 4 item
  • diced - 1 medium
  • , cubed - 2 medium

How to make fish chowder:

Cut fish into 2-inch squares. In large saucepan, bring 2 cups water to boiling. Add potatoes and carrot. Simmer 5 minutes. Stir in fish and salt. Simmer, covered, 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, in skillet, cook bacon until crisp. Drain, reserving 2 tablespoons of drippings. Cook onion in drippings until tender. Blend 1/2 cup milk into flour. Stir into fish mixture along with crumbled bacon, onion, thyme and remaining 1 1/2 cups milk. Cook 1 minute more.
