Ingredients/Components
- milk - 2 c
- salt - 2 tsp
- flour - 3 Tbsp
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- fish - 1 lb
- thyme - 1/4 tsp
- slices bacon - 4 item
- diced - 1 medium
- , cubed - 2 medium
How to make fish chowder:
Cut fish into 2-inch squares. In large saucepan, bring 2 cups water to boiling. Add potatoes and carrot. Simmer 5 minutes. Stir in fish and salt. Simmer, covered, 10 minutes.Meanwhile, in skillet, cook bacon until crisp. Drain, reserving 2 tablespoons of drippings. Cook onion in drippings until tender. Blend 1/2 cup milk into flour. Stir into fish mixture along with crumbled bacon, onion, thyme and remaining 1 1/2 cups milk. Cook 1 minute more.
