Ingredients/Components
- vegetable oil - 1 item
- French fried potatoes - 1 item
- fish fillets, cut in half - 1 lb
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- vinegar - 1 Tbsp
- flour - 3/4 c
- dried dill weed - 2 tsp
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- water - 3/4 c
How to make fish and chips:
Heat oil ( 2 to 3 minutes) in deep hot fryer or kettle to 375°. Prepare French fried potatoes, allowing 1 potato for each person. Keep warm. Dry fish fillets.Mix flour, dill weed and salt. Mix baking soda and vinegar. Stir into flour mixture. Stir in water until smooth. Dip fish into batter, allowing excess batter to drip into bowl. Fry, turning once, until brown, about 5 minutes.
