Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- chopped pecans - 1/2 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- cornstarch - 2 tsp
- nutmeg - 1 tsp
- soda - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- cooking oil - 1 c
- ground cloves - 1/2 tsp
- stick oleo - 1 item
- fig preserves - 1 c
- Add oil, eggs and buttermilk; beat well
How to make fig preserves cake:
Sift dry ingredients together. Add oil, eggs and buttermilk; beat well. Add preserves, pecans and vanilla; mix well. Pour into a 9 x 13-inch sheet pan. Bake at 325° for 45 minutes. Make sauce; pour over cake while still warm from oven.Sauce:1 c. sugar1/2 c. buttermilk1 stick oleo1 Tbsp. cornstarch1 tsp. soda Mix well; boil for 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
