Ingredients/Components

  • sugar
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • eggs - 3 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • nutmeg - 1 tsp
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • buttermilk - 1 c
  • stick butter - 1 item
  • corn syrup - 1 tsp
  • plain flour - 2 c
  • cloves - 1/2 tsp
  • salad oil - 1 c
  • fig preserves - 1 c

How to make fig preserves cake:

Topping:1 c. sugar1 stick butter1 tsp. vanilla1 tsp. corn syrup1/2 c. buttermilk Sift together first 6 ingredients. Add oil, eggs, 1 cup buttermilk, preserves and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Pour into 9 x 13-inch greased and floured pan. Bake at 325° for 45 minutes.

Topping: In medium pot add sugar, butter, vanilla, corn syrup and buttermilk. Boil for 3 minutes. Make holes in cake and pour topping over.
