Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- eggs - 3 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- nutmeg - 1 tsp
- oil - 1 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- corn syrup - 2 tsp
- cloves - 1 tsp
- stick oleo - 1/2 item
- chopped nuts pecans - 1 c
- fig preserves
- Add eggs, beating after each addition
How to make fig cake:
Sift dry ingredients into bowl; add oil and beat well. Add eggs, beating after each addition. Gradually add buttermilk, figs, nuts and vanilla. Bake at 325° for 1 1/2 hours. While warm, stick holes in cake with fork and glaze.Glaze:1/2 c. sugar1/2 stick oleo2 tsp. corn syrup1/2 tsp. vanilla1/8 tsp. soda1/4 c. buttermilk Combine all ingredients and boil for 3 minutes.
