Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- cinnamon - 4 tsp
- eggs - 4 item
- vanilla - 1 Tbsp
- chopped pecans - 1 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- stick margarine - 1 item
- soda - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 1/2 c
- Crisco - 2/3 c
- allspice - 1 tsp
- white Karo - 1 Tbsp
- fresh figs, peeled and mashed - 2 c
- Sift flour, salt, soda and spices together
How to make fig cake:
Cream sugar, eggs and Crisco. Sift flour, salt, soda and spices together. Add to creamed mixture. Slowly add figs and nuts. Bake in well-greased 12 x 9-inch pan and bake at 350° until well done.Sauce:1 c. sugar1 stick margarine1 Tbsp. white Karo1 Tbsp. vanilla1/2 c. buttermilk1/2 tsp. soda Mix and boil for 3 minutes.
