Ingredients/Components

  • plain flour - 2 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • sugar
  • cooking oil - 1 c
  • eggs - 3 item
  • buttermilk - 1 c
  • fig preserves - 1 c
  • chopped nuts - 1 c
  • vanilla - 1 Tbsp
  • Add oil and beat well
  • stick margarine - 1 item
  • corn syrup - 1 Tbsp

How to make fig cake:

Sift together dry ingredients. Add oil and beat well. Add eggs and buttermilk gradually. Add figs, nuts and vanilla. Mix well. Pour into greased loaf pan. Bake at 325° for 45 minutes.Sauce:1 c. sugar1 stick margarine1 Tbsp. corn syrup1 Tbsp
