Favorite pecan pie



  • eggs - 3 item
  • vanilla extract - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/8 tsp
  • dark corn syrup - 1 c
  • white sugar - 1 c
  • whipped cream optional - 1 item
  • whole pecans - 1 c
  • unbaked 9-inch pie shell - 1 item

How to make favorite pecan pie:

Note: 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans can be used.

Beat eggs, sugar and corn syrup together. Add pecans, salt and vanilla. Pour into unbaked pie shell. Bake at 425° for 10 minutes, then reduce heat to 350° and complete baking in 25 to 30 minutes. Brush melted butter or margarine over pecans while the pie is hot. Serve pie slightly warm or cold, with or without whipped cream. Yields 1 (9-inch) pie or 2 small pie shells.
