Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 4 Tbsp
- salt - 1/8 tsp
- flour
- egg yolks - 6 item
- melted butter - 2 Tbsp
- cream or half and half - 6 Tbsp
How to make fattigman:
Flavor with grated lemon rind and 1 tablespoon or 1 teaspoon cardamon seed, crushed.Beat eggs well. Add sugar gradually and mix well. Add rest of ingredients. Roll thin on floured board. Cut in diamond shape. Make a slit in center of diamond and pull one end of cookie through slit.
Drop into kettle of hot lard and fry like doughnuts. Turn occasionally to keep from burning. Should be a golden brown when done. Place on paper towel to cool. Before serving, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
