  • lemon juice - 1 item
  • sherry - 1 item
  • walnuts - 1 item
  • instant vanilla pudding - 1 pkg
  • sliced bananas - 1 item
  • pound cake - 1 item
  • jam of your choice - 1 item
  • raspberry, strawberry or cherry jello - 1 pkg

How to make english trifle:

Cut cake in fingers, 1-inch thick. Butter them on one side. Place the fingers, buttered side down, in bottom of a large bowl which can be used to serve the dessert in. Spread top with jam and over this pour the sherry. Sprinkle with walnuts. Let stand.

Meanwhile, male jello according to package directions. When cool enough, pour onto cake mixture. Add sliced banana which has been sprinkled with lemon juice. Refrigerate to set, then pour on instant pudding which has been made according to package directions.
