English toffee
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- butter - 1/4 lb
- water - 3 Tbsp
- oleo - 1/4 lb
How to make english toffee:
Cook in iron skillet or heavy pan until mixture is toffee colored (about 10 to 12 minutes over medium-high heat, stirring constantly). Pour into a buttered 9 x 13-inch pan so toffee will be about 1/4-inch thick. Across the hot candy, lay 3 small Hershey bars. When chocolate melts, spread smooth. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup chopped pecans.
