English muffin bread


Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 Tbsp
- milk - 2 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- water - 1/2 c
- baking soda - 1/4 tsp
- unsifted flour - 6 c
- cornmeal - 1 item
- dry yeast - 2 pkg
How to make english muffin bread:
Combine 3 cups flour, yeast, sugar, salt and baking soda. Heat liquids until very warm (120° to 130°). Add to dry ingredients and beat well. Stir in rest of flour as needed to make stiff batter. Put into two 8 1/2 x 4 1/2-inch bread pans that have been greased and sprinkled with cornmeal. Sprinkle tops with cornmeal. Cover and let rise in warm place for 45 minutes. Bake at 400° for 25 minutes. Remove from pan immediately and cool. Especially good toasted.Recipe categories: Breads, Yeast breads, English.
