  • sugar - 1 Tbsp
  • salt - 2 tsp
  • baking soda - 1/4 tsp
  • dry yeast - 2 pkg
  • 1% low-fat milk - 2 c
  • water - 1/2 c
  • vegetable cooking spray - 1 item
  • yellow cornmeal - 1 Tbsp

How to make english muffin bread:

Combine 3 cups of flour and next 4 ingredients in a medium bowl; stir well and set aside. Heat milk and water in a heavy saucepan until very warm (120° to 130°). Add to dry ingredients, stirring well. Stir in remaining 3 cups of flour to form a soft dough. Divide into 3 equal portions. Place 1 portion in each of 3 (13 ounce) coffee cans coated with cooking spray and sprinkled with 3/4 teaspoon cornmeal. Cover and let rise in a warm place (85°) for 45 minutes or until doubled in size. Bake at 400° for 20 minutes. Remove; cool.
