Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1 Tbsp
  • cornstarch - 4 Tbsp
  • Velveeta cheese - 1 item
  • chili powder - 4 Tbsp
  • hamburger - 2 lb
  • cloves garlic - 4 item
  • salt to taste - 1 item
  • dash of Tabasco - 1 item
  • large onion - 1 item
  • bacon grease - 1 c
  • large can water - 1/2 item
  • large can tomato juice - 1 item
  • corn tortilla shells - 12 item
  • medium size bottle ketchup - 1 item

How to make enchiladas:

Mix garlic, bacon grease, chili powder and cornstarch together in a saucepan. Add tomato juice, water, ketchup, sugar, salt and Tabasco. Stir and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 2 hours.

Steam or fry tortilla shells until soft. Cook hamburger; drain fat. Chop onions; grate Velveeta cheese.

Fill tortilla shells. Roll up and place in 9 x 13-inch pan. Pour sauce over and top with grated cheese. Heat 30 minutes at 350° or until bubbling.
