Ingredients/Components
- water
- melted butter - 1 item
- chili powder - 1 tsp
- can tomato paste - 1/2 item
- salt to taste - 1 item
- cloves garlic, chopped - 2 item
- slices bread, crumbled - 2 item
- large onion - 1 item
- sausage, crumbled - 1/2 lb
- hamburger, crumbled - 1 lb
- recipes pastry for 2-crust pies - 2 item
How to make empanadas:
Cook the hamburger, sausage, onion and garlic in a large skillet until brown, stirring frequently. Add the chili powder, salt, bread, tomato paste and water and mix well. Cook over low heat until thickened. Roll out the pastry on a floured surface and cut into 6-inch circles. Fold over and crimp the edge with a fork. Brush with butter and place on a baking sheet. Bake at 350° until brown.*BLKNEW
