- sugar - 3 Tbsp
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 Tbsp
- flour - 4 4
- shortening - 3 Tbsp
- warm water - 1 c
- active dry yeast - 1 pkg
- warm milk - 1 c
- oil to fry - 1 item
How to make elephant ears:
Topping:1 c. sugar1 tsp. cinnamon Dissolve yeast in water. Add milk, sugar, salt, shortening and 2 cups flour; beat until smooth. Stir in enough flour to form soft dough. On floured board, knead until smooth. Place in a greased bowl; turn once to coat top. Cover; rise in warm spot until doubled. Punch down, shape into 15 ovals. Deep fry, one at a time, until golden brown. Drain. Sprinkle topping over pastries.Recipe categories: < 60 mins, Breads, Vegetarian.
