El dorado beef cheese casserole
Ingredients/Components
- sour cream - 1 1
- garlic salt - 1/2 tsp
- chili powder - 1 Tbsp
- ground beef - 1 lb
- tortilla chips - 1 pkg
- instant minced onions - 1 Tbsp
- small curd cottage cheese - 1 c
- cans water - 2 item
- cumin - 1 Tbsp
- small cans tomato sauce - 2 item
- sliced black olives - 1 c
- grated Monterey Jack cheese - 2 c
- can green chilies, chopped - 3/4 item
How to make el dorado beef cheese casserole:
Place beef in cold skillet. Brown, then drain grease. Add onion, salt, tomato sauce and water; simmer a while. Combine sour cream, cottage cheese, chilies and olives; set aside.Crush tortilla chips and put enough to cover bottom of a well buttered casserole dish. Add meat mixture, then sour cream mixture, then chips again, then add some cheese. Continue layers until all is used. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes. Chopped tomatoes and shredded lettuce can be put on top prior to serving.
