  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk, divided - 1 qt

How to make eggnog:

In large saucepan, beat together eggs and sugar. Stir in 2 cups milk. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until mixture thickens and coats a metal spoon. Remove from heat and stir in remaining 2 cup milk and vanilla. Cover and refrigerate until thoroughly chilled, several hours. Just before serving, stir in cinnamon stick and ground nutmeg.
