Easy sweet pickles
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- salt - 1/4 c
- vinegar - 2 c
- mustard - 1/2 tsp
- alum - 1/2 tsp
- celery seed - 1/2 tsp
- onions - 1 item
- cucumbers - 1 item
How to make easy sweet pickles:
Fill 1 gallon glass jar almost full with sliced cucumbers and 3 or 4 sliced onions. Heat together and cool all other ingredients.When cool, pour liquid over cukes. Refrigerate. After this stands a few hours the cukes will have shrunk and the liquid will cover them. These can be used after a few days, or they will keep indefinitely in the refrigerator.
