  • sugar
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • vinegar
  • celery seed - 1/2 tsp
  • mustard seed - 1/2 tsp
  • turmeric - 1/2 tsp
  • thinly sliced onions
  • thinly sliced cucumbers - 7 c

How to make easy refrigerator pickles:

In glass or crockery bowl alternately layer cucumbers and onions. In medium pan combine sugar, vinegar, salt, mustard seed, celery seed and ground turmeric; bring to boiling; stirring just until sugar dissolves. Pour mixture atop cucumber-onion mixture. Cool slightly. Cover tightly; refrigerate pickles at least 24 hours. Store up to 1 month in refrigerator. Makes 7 cups.
