- sugar
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- vinegar
- celery seed - 1/2 tsp
- mustard seed - 1/2 tsp
- turmeric - 1/2 tsp
- thinly sliced onions
- thinly sliced cucumbers - 7 c
How to make easy refrigerator pickles:
In glass or crockery bowl alternately layer cucumbers and onions. In medium pan combine sugar, vinegar, salt, mustard seed, celery seed and ground turmeric; bring to boiling; stirring just until sugar dissolves. Pour mixture atop cucumber-onion mixture. Cool slightly. Cover tightly; refrigerate pickles at least 24 hours. Store up to 1 month in refrigerator. Makes 7 cups.Recipe categories: Appetizers, American, North american.
