Ingredients/Components
- cream cheese
- eggs - 3 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- soda - 1 tsp
- cocoa - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- vinegar - 1 Tbsp
- stick butter - 1 item
- nuts optional - 1 item
- box powdered sugar - 1 item
- box butter cake mix - 1 item
- small bottle red food coloring - 1 item
How to make easy red velvet cake:
Cream Cheese Icing:8 oz. cream cheese1 stick butter1 box powdered sugar1 tsp. vanilla nuts (optional) Mix cocoa with cake mix. Add buttermilk, vanilla, coloring, butter and eggs. Blend until moist. Add soda and vinegar and mix well. Beat 4 minutes. Bake at 375° for 25 to 30 minutes. Use two 9-inch pans.Icing: In saucepan, add cream cheese and butter. Melt on low heat. Add sugar and vanilla. Beat to spreading consistency. Add nuts. Let cool. Spread on cake.
