Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1 Tbsp
  • salt - 2 tsp
  • tomato juice - 1/2 c
  • carrots, cut in chunks - 6 item
  • medium onion, peeled and sliced - 1 item
  • beef stew meat, cut in 1 1/2-inch cubes - 2 lb
  • stalk celery, cut on the diagonal - 1 item
  • tapioca for thickening - 2 Tbsp

How to make easy oven beef stew:

Place raw meat in a 7 x 11-inch pan. Add vegetables. Blend salt, sugar and tapioca. Sprinkle over meat and vegies. Add tomato juice. Cover pan with foil, sealing tight around edges. Bake at 250° for 4 hours. If it gets too thick, add water. Makes 6 servings.
