Ingredients/Components
- ground beef - 1 lb
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- can tomato sauce - 1 oz
- can mushroom pieces - 1 oz
- sugar - 1 Tbsp
- dried oregano - 1/2 tsp
- dried basil - 1/2 tsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- garlic powder - 1/2 tsp
- Bisquick - 2 c
- milk - 1/2 c
- egg - 1 item
- slices American cheese - 8 item
- Parmesan cheese - 1/4 c
How to make easy italian casserole:
Cook and stir beef and onion until browned. Stir in sauce, mushrooms, sugar and spices, stirring constantly and then occasionally for 10 minutes.Heat oven to 400°. Grease baking dish (8 x 8 x 2-inch). Mix baking mix, milk and egg. Spread half in pan. Top with 4 cheese slices. Spoon beef mixture over cheese. Top with 4 slices of cheese. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Drop remaining dough by spoonfuls onto cheese. Bake until light brown, about 20 minutes.
