Easy apple strudel
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1 item
- flour - 1 Tbsp
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- water - 1/4 c
- egg yolks - 3 item
- vinegar - 2 Tbsp
- sifted flour - 2 c
- butter or oleo - 1 c
- graham crackers - 1/2 c
- to 7 medium apples, chopped fine - 6 item
How to make easy apple strudel:
Cut butter into flour and salt as for pie crust. Mix together egg yolks, vinegar and water. Add to flour mixture, mixing with fork. Add a little more flour as needed to make a heavy dough that can be handled. Chill dough several hours or overnight. Roll out thin and sprinkle with graham cracker crumbs. Spread with apples. Add flour, cinnamon and butter mixture. Roll up as jelly roll. Seal edges well. Bake at 375° for 45 minutes. Makes 2.Recipe categories: Desserts, Low protein, Low sodium.
