Ingredients/Components

  • coconut - 1 c
  • cocoa - 2 Tbsp
  • sifted powdered sugar - 4 c
  • margarine - 1/2 c
  • margarine, melted - 1/2 c
  • cream cheese, softened - 1 (8
  • box German chocolate cake mix - 1 item
  • chopped nuts pecans - 1 c
  • Coke - 6 Tbsp

How to make earthquake cake:

Prepare cake mix as instructed on box. Spread coconut and nuts in bottom of dish 13 x 9. Pour cake mix over nuts and coconut. Combine melted margarine, cream cheese and 2 cups of powdered sugar. Beat until smooth. Pour over cake batter and bake at 350° for 45 to 55 minutes.

Frosting: Combine cocoa powder, Coke and 1/2 cup of margarine. Cook on medium heat until mixture boils. Pour over remaining powdered sugar.
