Dutch apple tart
Ingredients/Components
- flour - 2 c
- butter or margarine, softened - 3/4 c
- sugar - 3/4 c
- rind of 1 lemon, grated
- apples - 4 item
- raisins - 1/2 c
- cinnamon - 1/4 tsp
- jam of your choice - 2 Tbsp
- egg, beaten - 1 item
How to make dutch apple tart:
Pastry: Combine flour, butter, 1/2 cup sugar and grated lemon rind. Roll dough out to fit a 9-inch round cake pan with some dough left over to trim top.Filling: Combine sliced apples, raisins, cinnamon and jam and fill the pastry. Roll out dough trimmings and cut strips for top of tart. Brush crust and strips with beaten egg. Bake at 350° for 1 hour.
