Dutch apple pie
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
- packed brown sugar - 1/4 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour - 3 Tbsp
- nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
- lemon juice - 1 Tbsp
- light brown sugar - 1/4 c
- butter at room temperature - 1/3 c
- graham cracker crust - 1 item
- sliced apples
- large egg yolk, beaten - 1 item
How to make dutch apple pie:
Brush bottom and sides of crust evenly with egg yolk. Bake on baking sheet until light brown (5 minutes). Combine apples, lemon juice, 1/2 cup sugar, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 3 tablespoons flour, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Mix and spoon into crust. Mix remaining flour, sugar, brown sugar and butter with pastry blender until crumbly. Sprinkle over apples and bake until bubbly, about 50 minutes.
