- sugar - 1 c
- cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 2 tsp
- flour
- nutmeg - 1/8 tsp
- eggs, beaten - 2 item
- baking powder - 5 tsp
- shortening - 2 tsp
- grease for deep frying - 1 item
How to make doughnuts:
Cream shortening with sugar. Stir in eggs. Sift dry ingredients together; add to creamed mixture. Add mix gradually. Roll out dough to about 1/3-inch thickness, handling as little as possible. Cut out doughnuts; fry in deep fryer or skillet. Fry until doughnuts rise to surface and brown each side 1 minute.Recipe categories: Breads, Grains, Pasta, rice and grains.
