Dolly parton's banana pudding
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- vanilla - 2 tsp
- milk - 6 c
- butter - 1/2 c
- egg yolks - 6 item
- all-purpose flour - 1/2 c
- dash of salt - 1 item
- lemon juice - 1 tsp
- bananas, sliced - 3 lb
- whole eggs - 3 item
- Meringue Topping:6 egg whites
- boxes vanilla wafers Nilla wafers - 2 oz
How to make dolly parton's banana pudding:
Meringue Topping:6 egg whites1 tsp. lemon juice1 tsp. sugar1 tsp. vanilla Layer sliced bananas and vanilla wafers in a large baking pan. Mix together sugar, flour, eggs, butter and salt in heavy-bottomed saucepan. Add the milk, a little at a time. Cook slowly until the mixture thickens. Let it cool for a few minutes, then add the vanilla. Pour over bananas and vanilla wafers.Meringue Topping: Beat the egg whites with the lemon juice, sugar and vanilla until stiff. Spoon this mixture over the top of the pudding and brown at 350° for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden on top. Makes 10 to 12 servings.
