  • sugar
  • vanilla - 2 tsp
  • milk - 6 c
  • butter - 1/2 c
  • egg yolks - 6 item
  • all-purpose flour - 1/2 c
  • dash of salt - 1 item
  • lemon juice - 1 tsp
  • bananas, sliced - 3 lb
  • whole eggs - 3 item
  • Meringue Topping:6 egg whites
  • boxes vanilla wafers Nilla wafers - 2 oz

How to make dolly parton's banana pudding:

Meringue Topping:6 egg whites1 tsp. lemon juice1 tsp. sugar1 tsp. vanilla Layer sliced bananas and vanilla wafers in a large baking pan. Mix together sugar, flour, eggs, butter and salt in heavy-bottomed saucepan. Add the milk, a little at a time. Cook slowly until the mixture thickens. Let it cool for a few minutes, then add the vanilla. Pour over bananas and vanilla wafers.

Meringue Topping: Beat the egg whites with the lemon juice, sugar and vanilla until stiff. Spoon this mixture over the top of the pudding and brown at 350° for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden on top. Makes 10 to 12 servings.

Note: This special dessert is Dolly's treat at Aunt Granny's Restaurant in "Dollywood."
