  • sugar
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • water - 1/2 c
  • pinch of salt - 1 item
  • pecan halves - 1 item
  • white Karo - 1/2 c
  • egg whites, beaten - 2 item

How to make divinity:

Combine sugar, Karo and water. Cook until it forms a hard ball (260°). Add 1/2 of the sugar mixture to beaten egg whites, beating while adding mixture. Cook the remaining mixture a few more minutes. Add vanilla, salt and the rest of the sugar mixture. Beat until it loses its gloss and begins to slightly harden. Drop on waxed paper. Top with a pecan half.
