  • chopped pecans
  • granulated sugar - 3 c
  • vanilla extract - 1 tsp
  • cold water - 3/4 c
  • egg whites - 2 item
  • white Karo syrup - 3/4 c

How to make divinity:

Mix sugar, syrup and water. Cook slowly until 1/3 teaspoon forms a hard ball when dropped in cold water. Beat egg whites until stiff; fold into syrup mixture. Gently fold in vanilla and pecans. Drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper; allow to harden before serving.
