  • sugar - 1 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk - 1 c
  • Crisco - 1 c
  • Filling:4 Tbsp
  • regular cake mix any flavor - 1 item

How to make ding dong cake:

Bake cake and let cool.Filling:4 Tbsp. flour1 c. milk1 c. Crisco1 c. sugar1 tsp. vanilla Cook flour and milk until thick, then refrigerate and chill. Beat Crisco and sugar together with mixer 4 minutes. Add cold mixture and beat 4 minutes more. Add vanilla and beat well. Split cooled cake in half and spread filling on bottom layer. Put top back on and ice top of cake.
