Ingredients/Components

  • water - 2 qt
  • vinegar - 2 Tbsp
  • coarse salt - 1/2 c
  • cloves garlic - 4 item
  • bay leaves - 4 item
  • mustard seed - 1/4 tsp
  • cucumbers - 30 item
  • mixed pickling spice - 1 tsp
  • sprigs dill - 10 item

How to make dill pickles:

Wash and dry cucumbers and arrange in a crock or jar. Bring salt and water to a boil. Cool, then add vinegar, garlic, bay leaves, mustard and pickling spices. Pour over cucumbers. Arrange dill over all. Liquid should completely cover cucumbers. If not, add more salt water. Keep in a cool place for one week.
