Ingredients/Components

  • cinnamon - 1 item
  • butter - 2 Tbsp
  • cornstarch - 2 Tbsp
  • water - 1/2 c
  • can frozen apple juice - 1 oz
  • unbaked 2-crust pie shell - 1 item
  • or 6 pared, sliced apples - 5 item

How to make diabetic apple pie:

Fill pie shell with sliced apples. Heat apple juice to boiling. Dissolve cornstarch in water and stir into hot juice. Cook until thickened. Sprinkle cinnamon over apples; dot with butter. Pour juice over all and cover with top crust. Prick crust. Bake in 450° oven 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350° and bake until done, 35 to 45 minutes.
