Diabetic apple pie
Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 1 item
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- cornstarch - 2 Tbsp
- water - 1/2 c
- can frozen apple juice - 1 oz
- unbaked 2-crust pie shell - 1 item
- or 6 pared, sliced apples - 5 item
How to make diabetic apple pie:
Fill pie shell with sliced apples. Heat apple juice to boiling. Dissolve cornstarch in water and stir into hot juice. Cook until thickened. Sprinkle cinnamon over apples; dot with butter. Pour juice over all and cover with top crust. Prick crust. Bake in 450° oven 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350° and bake until done, 35 to 45 minutes.Recipe categories: Desserts, Pie, Pies and tarts.
