Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 3/4 c
- salt - 3/4 tsp
- cocoa - 6 Tbsp
- buttermilk - 2/3 c
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- shortening - 1/2 c
- sifted flour - 2 c
- margarine - 1 Tbsp
- eggs, unbeaten - 2 item
- In separate bowl, mix shortening, milk, and flavoring; add in the dry mixture and mix well
How to make devils food cake:
Mix all dry ingredients. In separate bowl, mix shortening, milk, and flavoring; add in the dry mixture and mix well. Beat in the eggs; pour into 2 greased and floured pans and bake at 350° until done.Icing:1 1/2 c. sugar3/4 c. milk1 tsp. vanilla1/3 c. cocoa1 Tbsp. margarine Mix sugar and cocoa, then add milk.
