Ingredients/Components

  • milk - 3/4 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour - 2 Tbsp
  • lemon juice - 1 Tbsp
  • butter, melted - 4 Tbsp
  • egg, beaten - 1 item
  • Worcestershire sauce - 1 tsp
  • chopped onion - 2 Tbsp
  • bread crumbs - 1/4 c
  • pepper to taste - 1 item
  • chopped parsley - 1 Tbsp
  • crabmeat, flaked - 1 lb

How to make deviled crabs:

Cook onion in 3 tablespoons butter. Blend in flour. Add milk gradually, cooking until thick, stirring constantly. Add seasonings, Worcestershire sauce and lemon juice. Stir small amount of hot sauce into egg, blending well; then add to sauce. Add parsley and crabmeat. Place in well-greased shells. Combine crumbs and 1 tablespoon butter; sprinkle on top. Bake at 350° for 15 to 20 minutes. Yield: 6 servings.
