Ingredients/Components
- pkg - 1 oz
- water - 1/2 c
- vinegar - 1/4 c
- cooking oil - 1 2
- dry mustard - 1 tsp
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- ketchup - 1/2 c
- large onion, chopped - 1 item
- toast points or cooked rice optional - 1 item
How to make depression casserole:
In a saucepan, saute onion in oil until tender. Stir in ketchup, water, vinegar, mustard and pepper. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Place frankfurters in a 1-quart baking dish. Pour sauce over. Bake, uncovered, at 375° for 30 minutes or until bubbly. If desired, serve over toast points or rice. Yield: 5 servings.Recipe categories: Low sodium, Main dish, One Dish meal.
